What is Leukemia?Leukemia is the cancer of blood cells. It begins in the bone marrow, where WBC's and RBC's are produced. If left untreated, every kind of leukemia can turn deadly. Leukemia can actually trigger other problems, such as anemia, where the iron in blood is very low.

White Blood Cells in LeukemiaThe many different types of Leukemia are caused by an abnormal count of WBC's within the blood stream. This means there are above 100,000 cells per microliter of blood! Leukemia cells crowd out the normal blood cells.
